Road Trip 2016 – Day 7 (Wyoming to Montana)

This day was pretty uneventful.  None of us were feeling well.  I was feeling quite ill in the morning, so we slept in a bit and took it easy.  Thankfully, we were feeling much better after breakfast and some rest in the morning.  Needless to say, we made some good time and distance on the road.  It was fortunate we didn’t need to get very far to make our next nightly stay in Bozeman, MT.

Road Trip 2016 – Day 6 (Mt. Rushmore & Devils Tower!)

Today was a relatively short driving day.  We only drove about 200+ miles (including some backtracking) because we had a few stops along the way we wanted to make.

On a previous cross-country trip about 13 years ago, Natalie and I stopped by Mt. Rushmore, but it was in the middle of summer and we didn’t feel like going in the actual park.  I think there was too much traffic, and it would have cost money that we didn’t really want to spend at the time.  We pulled off to the side of the highway, took a few pictures and then turned around to head back to I-90.

2016-02-05 10.17.17Well, this time around we wanted to go in.  It also helped that it was the middle of winter, and pretty much nobody was around.  Only cost $11 dollars to enter (better than I expected).  We parked in the RV section due to the roof carrier (apparently they have a parking garage, who knew?), and then had the entire place to ourselves.
